Information you provide

Abide collects the email address, password credentials, and name used to create and secure your account. Password handling is provided through Supabase authentication; Abide does not display your password to other members.

You may add profile details such as a short bio and favorite Scripture. You may also create or contribute to Groups, Studies, announcements, Prayer requests, praises, discussions, responses, invitations, feedback, and content reports. This content may reveal personal or religious information depending on what you choose to share.

Groups and community visibility

Group content is shared with members according to the Group’s access settings. Discoverable Groups may be found by signed-in members; private Groups require an invitation or approved membership. Group owners and leaders have additional community-management controls.

Choose content with its intended audience in mind. Other members may see, quote, or respond to content that is available to them.

Anonymous Prayer

Marking a Prayer request anonymous hides your identity from its ordinary audience. It does not make the request unlinked inside Abide: the request remains associated with your account for ownership, safety, account deletion, and moderation. Authorized administrators can identify the author when needed to review a report or protect the community.

Notifications

Abide stores in-app notifications connected to your account. If you choose to enable iOS push notifications, Abide stores the APNs device token, its development or production environment, status, and operational timestamps needed to deliver approved notifications. The token is linked to your account for delivery, reassignment safety, and revocation; it is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Completed push-delivery history is retained for up to 30 days by the current maintenance policy. Disabled, unreferenced device registrations are eligible for bounded cleanup after 90 days. You can disable push in Abide or iOS Settings.

How information is used

• Provide authentication, profiles, Groups, Studies, Prayer, community responses, invitations, notifications, and sharing.
• Keep the service secure, enforce access rules, troubleshoot failures, and prevent duplicate or misdirected notifications.
• Review reports, remove content, respond to feedback, and suspend accounts when necessary to protect the community.
• Send transactional account emails such as confirmation and password-recovery messages.

Abide does not include an advertising network, a cross-app tracking system, or a third-party product-analytics SDK in the current release.

Service providers

Abide uses Supabase for authentication and database services, Vercel for web hosting and server execution, Apple Push Notification service for notifications you enable, and an email-delivery provider configured through the authentication service for transactional messages. Scripture passages are retrieved through the ESV API. These providers process information only as needed for their role and under their own service and privacy terms.

Retention and deletion

Account and community information is generally retained while your account or the relevant community content remains active. Some operational records have the shorter push-retention periods described above. Legal, security, provider-backup, or abuse-prevention records may persist where reasonably required.

You can permanently delete your account inside Abide under Settings → Delete account. Confirmed deletion removes the authentication account and associated application data, including authored content and push registrations. Any Groups you own and their associated content are also permanently deleted, subject to any retention required by law or provider backup cycles.

Security and children

Abide uses access controls, server-side authorization, and standard HTTPS transport to protect information. No system can guarantee absolute security, so share sensitive Prayer or community details thoughtfully.

Abide does not currently ask for age or provide child-specific accounts or parental controls. It is not presented as a Kids Category app. Parents and guardians should decide whether a minor’s participation in community sharing is appropriate.
